Sharp Cookies - Always On

On September 25, Sharp Cookies release "Always On," the first single from their debut album *Songs for a Pony* (Wellington Records, spring 2027).

Boredom is a source of creativity. It could have been a quote from Dirk De Wachter, but it is the message behind the new single from Sharp Cookies, produced by Gianni Marzo and Brecht Plasschaert (Isbells/Marble Sounds).

"Always On" tells the story of a carefree youth somewhere in the 1980s—before mobile phones and laptops—and contrasts it with growing up in today’s world of constant stimulation and non-stop action. The result is a sharp guitar-pop song that takes a swipe at TikTok and similar social platforms while championing the value of boredom and daydreaming.

In the industrial heart of Hoboken, Sharp Cookies began shaking the fine dust from their instruments in 2021. Beneath a scorching sun, the band members vowed not to rest until they had crafted the perfect guitar-pop song.

After years in radio (VRT Radio 1, Radio 2, Klara), frontman and radio personality Herwig Verhovert hung up his microphone to start pouring stories into songs. Tim Wuyts (guitar), Toon Dockx (bass), and Maarten Fivez (drums) round out the Cookies. In the spring of 2027, the band will release its debut full-length album: *Songs for a Pony* (Wellington Records).
