Ronny Wondr - MOXI

On Friday, March 20, MOXI will be released, the fifth single by Ostend-based drummer and producer Ronny Wondr.

In MOXI, Ronny Wondr takes a different direction. It is a track where texture and rhythm come together. Think of the grinding of brushes, the unpredictability of skewed beats, choppy vocals, and the deep rumble of a wobbly synth bass. It is instrumental, it is funky. Are you ready for the new wave?

Renaud Debruyne AKA Ronny Wondr is a drummer/producer from Ostend. He studied jazz at the KASK Conservatory in Ghent and drums for a wide range of bands, from hip hop and funk to indie (momoyo, Foutloos, Shoreline Collective, Vincent Coomans, Mergel, Mirek Coutigny).

Initially, Ronny Wondr created hip hop beats using samples from old soul, funk, and jazz records. Driven by his love for live performance, he evolved into a more organic approach based on his own drum grooves. In his new tracks, he plays all instruments himself, yet remains rooted in the tradition of hip hop, funk, and soul.
