momoyo - Mirror Session

momoyo is the Belgian band around Esther Coorevits (Jan Verstraeten, Tourist LeMC), Frie Mechele, Jonas Bruyneel (Philemon, Vincent Coomans), Renaud Debruyne (Mirek Coutigny, Mergel) and Sven Sabbe (Galine). The quintet surprised in 2020 with a debut EP that received airplay on Radio 1 and Studio Brussel. In 2022, the debut album Gaps in time followed on Starman Records and momoyo toured Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. momoyo received rave press at home and abroad and was streamed almost one and a half million times.

This fall, momoyo will release a third album, the successor to Gaps in Time (2022, Starman Records). In the meantime, the band will release Mirror Session. In this acoustic EP, momoyo will reprise three songs from previous albums. Intimate, raw and unfiltered. These are three songs that have taken a special place for the band.

Bones is a song about vulnerability that momoyo was allowed to play in the Rich Mix in London in memory of guitarist Toon Daelman, a friend who died far too early. Touch is a story about the fragility of a body in which Jonas explores the relationship with his father. Eyes is about looking back on your life, but also about finding acceptance with the people closest to you.
