Stormachtig takes you on a journey of extremes. On the one hand, you have an undulating melody of broken chords clashing with a wonky hip-hop beat. On the other, you have a fragmented melody set to a flowing swing rhythm. These contrasts place you in the midst of a storm. Sometimes the wind lifts you up, sometimes it pulls the ground from beneath your feet.
Foutloos is an instrumental trio consisting of Esther Coorevits (Nemø ensemble, Tourist LeMC), Jonas Bruyneel (momoyo, Philemon, Vincent Coomans) and Renaud Debruyne (Mirek Coutigny, Mergel). In Foutloos, atmospheric improvisations on the viola go hand in hand with funky bass lines and sharp hip-hop grooves.
