On Friday 3 October, 'Afektbejag', the fifth single by ᖴOᑌTᒪOOᔕ, will be released.
Ceci n'est pas du klezmer. With their latest release, Afektbejag, Foutloos once again proves they're pushing the boundaries. The song opens with a motif reminiscent of klezmer, which unfolds throughout the track into a psychedelic trip. Traditional influences meet contemporary experimentation: an aksak rhythm is transformed into a hypnotic, dramatic soundscape and a strange beat. Afektbejag is an invitation to surrender to the music and be carried away by the unpredictable, yet always captivating world of Foutloos.
ᖴOᑌTᒪOOᔕ is an instrumental trio consisting of Esther Coorevits (Tourist LeMC, Nemø ensemble), Jonas Bruyneel (momoyo, Philemon, Vincent Coomans), and Renaud Debruyne (Mirek Coutigny, Mergel). In Foutloos, atmospheric improvisations on the viola blend with funky bass lines and sharp hip-hop grooves. Foutloos has played shows in Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom and will be artist in residence at De Grote Post in 2026.
